Well its not the clutch master or slave cylinder, changed those today. I was told by a gentleman today that it sounds like the pilot bushing is gone. Could that be the cause?
The pilot bushing COULD be gone, also, but that's not the root cause of this problem. It's looking more and more like that fork is bent. Wasn't that your initial thinking in Post #3 above.
When you're in there to get this fixed, be sure to replace that pilot bushing with one of the new Kevlar ones anyway, even if it doesn't look or feel bad. The new design is just that much better.
I dropped the tranny this evening, what a task. The fork does appear to be bent and looks twisted. I am thinking I should add a kevlar pilot bushing while its apart thoughts?
I'd add the kevlar in a hearbeat as long as the tranny is out. If the disc, pressure plate, throw out bearing (cheap looking part that you might consider swapping too, but that's just a personal bias over how cheap it looks) look good, then the kevlar bushing and updated fork is all you should need.
I'd also check your up pipes about 4 times before the tranny goes back in. If you have even the slightest sign of a leak, the swap will be 100 times easier with the tranny out of the way.
If theres a fair bit miles on the clutch and you can afford it put a clutch in it while its apart. Just that much longer till it all has to comes apart again
If its making a hissing noise when its in and not when its out your throw out bearing is going bad. Im on my 3rd freakin one in a matter of this summer. Granite I put about 10k on a month but it shouldnt be doing that.
