Hello all, I'm not sure if this is legal on this forum but here we go.. If you saw my Turbo V10 Excursion thread here are some parts I took off of my Ex, I have the factory air filter housing with original MAF and fram air hog washable filter. I have the drivers side exhaust manifold in excellent condition. When I installed the Magnaflow 7.3L PS exhaust, I never used the downpipe that came with that kit so it's available. If this is legal and anyone is interested send me a message. If you have to remove this thread no problem. Thanks for your interest.
There is a classifieds section, but I don't know if you need a certain number of posts to post there. But since you're selling things, any chance you have a turbo kit for a v10? I'd buy one from you.
After I get my truck on and off the dyno i'm thinking about pulling my kit back off and making a jig to weld everything up. I'm going to start calculating what my cost was for pipe and go from there. How many are interested?
I guess maybe I'm an old fart or something...don't know...
I find that Ford did an excellent job of power out of the stock V10...at least with my 17,000#'s rolling GCW that I have been all over the country with and to/thru the Rockies twice...I've had plenty of power in stock form...
Now if I LIVED in Colorado or some other state at altitude all the time...I'd certainly want a turbo/blower...no question...but I'd likely opt for a factory job as I am a pretty conservative person and would be concerned about drive line issues with pushing too much HP/trq out the stock driveline (mostly the 4R100)...since Ford never offered a turbo/blown V10...I'd go PSD then...
But I find power in the V10 with 4.30 gearing and stock 265/75/16 tires to be more than enough...but maybe I'm just old and content
Kind of reminds me of the old joke...a young bull and old bull are looking down in the valley full of young pretty cows...the young bull says "let's run down there and do one of them...but the old bull turns to the young bull and says..."no...let's walk down and do them all!" I guess I am just an old bull (or full of bull...don't know which)

Same here. Even with the 3.73. When you have a 2010 Mustang GT huffling and puffing to pull away from you, and your Excursion is hardly breaking a sweat to keep up with them, that's all the power I need or want in something this big and heavy.
I guarantee that V8 Mustang wasn't trying to pull away from you.
No offense VA, but you have very disillusioned beliefs when it comes to your V10 if you think the Mustang was huffing and puffing to pull away and your Excursion wasn't breaking a sweat to keep up.
When I tried to like a V10 enough to buy an F250 with a V10, I just couldn't believe the lack of performance from them. Even modified, short of a power adder, there's no way they stack up to either of my modified PSD's, and neither of my PSD's can keep up with a 2010 Mustang GT. Back when my Lightning was stock, I would barely walk the new retro body style Mustang GT's when they first came out, and back then, my Lightning KILLED my diesels.

I didn't think so either. But once we got where we were going, he asked how I was able to keep up with him so well between stop lights. I told him I wasn't even trying.
To be quite honest, it was the first time and only time I can ever recall having my Excursion over 3,000+ rpm.
Whatever performance I do have (???) could explain why I also have the lowest gas mileage in this entire forum. I have never exceeded 8.4 mpg under any circumstances.
Hmmm.... I got rid of my 06 GT Conv to get the Excursion so I have some experience here. I still miss the fun of going through the gears on that one! There are 2 possibilities on that GT 'huffing and puffing' - it was being driven by someone who didn't know how to drive or he was messing with you. Even the V6 with an automatic will easily put us in our places. At least you can beat him in the numbers game - you have more power! I do have to admit at messing with people around here though - a guy was driving a new M5 and thought he was the shizzle.... caught him at a light and beat him across the intersection which apparently made things 'shrink' up for him... he passes me like I'm sitting still and then has to slam on the brakes as a cop was sitting right there in there normal speed trap spot. ah... what fun...
