The French are crying that the crime occured over thirty years ago and should be forgotten. It has only been that long because after the slimeball pled guilty and skipped out on his bail. The Europeans have been refusing to deport him ever since becuase he is a famous person and they don't feel his crime is that big a deal. And we don't have his sorry butt yet as he is appealing deportation and several european countries are leaning on the swiss not to deport him.

All I know is what I read in Wiki shortly after you posted. The Lewis case was in 1958. He was almost 23, and his cousin was 13.....although he claimed she was 15....(I'm still not sure of the legalities at the time)......a Brit reporter broke the story while he was on tour in London....Got hounded off stage and career temp. took a nosedive. No prosecution so far as I know.....

Not really sure it's an uneven application of the law, Bruce.......The Polanski case---even if she were of the age of consent---would probably be considered 'date rape'......Aside from the ages of the girls, the circumstances of the liaisons weren't the same.

Toss him in Prison,general population to be exact.........Let him see how the big boys like to play the game of rape,im guessing he wont find it quite as pleasant "catching" as "pitching".

There is not a national age of consent in the US. Individual states set that, and in some states it actually is 13.
Regardless of whether Polanski's romp was with a 13 year old or a 30 year old, he did drug and rape someone.
