Roman Polanski Arrested
I'm surprised no one has jumped on this one. Convicted child rapist Roman Polanski was arrested...will be back in the US to face sentencing for his conviction.
Anyone have any thoughts???

I have never heard of this guy, maybe I'm to young or i just don't pay attention to the news. Although when a story like that comes on the news I usually change it, stuff like that just makes me sick.

For reasons I cannot begin to guess.....(well, I could.....but I won't)......France and Poland are petitioning for his release and are protesting his arrest and are beginning to line up some Hollywood support for Polanski.
Didn't he get some 13-year old girl doped-up on 'ludes' or something at Jack Nicholson's house? Then had sex with her? And he was 44-years old at the time?
Damn. On-the-lam for 30+ years.....Hiding out in plain view in France (go figure). The last I heard him really mentioned was a few years ago with 'The Pianist' came out, and Polanski couldn't show up for his own Oscar (best director?)....or something like that.

He was married to Sharon Tate (up-and-coming....and beautiful actress) in the 60s.....a marriage cut (no pun intended....seriously) short by the Manson Family/Helter Skelter murder spree in 1969.

Yeah, I have some thoughts as to what should happen to this no good piece of excrement....allow him to serve his prison sentence in the general population of any good old, nasty prison. I'm sure there is someone there who would make his life reaaaal pleasant...

He plead out on the charge, and took off when the plea bargain looked like it might go south. So he is convicted, just never sentenced. He tried to cut some deal a year or so ago, but wasn't able to do it as you have to be there (in court in Los Angeles) to get to that level.
I think that's the best idea yet, sentence him to time served (he was in the can for a while when first arrested) plus 30 days with Chuck. And an additional 30 days if Manson is still alive at the end of the first 30.
BTW, the Manson clan was mostly sentenced to death, but that all got set aside due to a Supreme Court decision about the way the penalty was applied. New rules like California's "special circumstances" laws brought the death penalty back, but it takes forever. And threads about it go on forever, so let's not go on to that debate.

I think because,know matter how warped this is, it was a legal union with Jerry/cousin and courts back then and age was not a factor. Didn`t her parents give the blessing? Long time ago.correct me if i`m wrong

But why are you defending Polanski? He fed her qaaludes (sic?) in champagne and had sex with her while she was out of it....Perhaps that's why she was 'not complaining at the time'? I'm absolutely positive that you're not defending a 44-year old man for doing this to a 13-year old girl........
The 'forgiveness' apparently came later......Not at the time of the prosecution and trial........There's no question that he did what he did.....He pled guilty to it......
So. Wassup?

Saw an interview with the victim from 2003 last night. She clearly does not forgive him as much as she said she just didn't want any further damage done to herself, basically just drop everything and get on with her life. There was an undisclosed settlement made between Polanski and her and her family (as if that should somehow get this perv off the hook). In the same blurb, Debra Winger (washed up and looking every bit her age btw) had the audacity to gush over what a great and talented man he is and how unfair this all is. Perhaps she was positioning herself for a role in his next film which hopefully will be filmed on location from SanQuentin Prison. Good to see how long that little dweeb lasts there.

After Polanski escaped to Europe to avoid sentencing...he continued his pursuit of young girls. It was something that he was proud of...his deeds should not go unpinished.
As for Jerry Lee Lewis...his actions were no less reprehensible.
