I have decided I want to install a delay in the fan circuit but can't seem to find the timer. It is called an "on delay timer" and should be adjustable. Anyone know who carrys this sort of item?
Graingers and Digikey, other industrial sellers, sell control timers that are 12-24 VDC and are adjustable. They're used in industrial controls but should work fine for you application.
Are you talking about one that keeps it running after shutdown? or delays turn-on?
The first kind is in almost all GM cars from the 90's on, I believe it is a plug-in to the fuse panel. It is used to keep the interior lights on, another is used to keep headlights on after turn-off on models with auto headlights.
I'm with Ross. What do you want? If you control the fan relay coil with a thermostat, it is delayed until you have excessive temps and it will stay on until it cools below thermostat max temp. It's how you wire the circuit. chuck
