I also saw this press release. It says "the F-Series Super Duty offers a variety of trim levels – XL, XL Décor, XLT, Lariat and King Ranch." No more FX4?
They discontinued the FX-4 trim level on the 2010 trucks (current body style) and made it a package like it had been on the pre-'08 trucks. Looks like the 2011 trucks are going to be the same....no FX-4 trim level, just a stand alone package.
Just my opinion, but FX4 wasn't a "trim level" comparable to KR, XLT, etc. FX4 and 4x4 were running gear options - the FX4 upgraded the shocks and added skid plates in past versions and had nothing to do with interior trim.
You could get an XLT or KR with the FX4 or 4x4 package.
In 2008-2009, the FX-4 was more than just shocks, etc. It had an exclusive paint scheme and other features and was a separate trim level on its own. Prior to '08, it was just a package that included the Rancho branded shocks, the decal, etc. and for the 2010 model year, the FX-4 was reduced back to being an option package like the pre-'08 trucks and the FX-4 trim level was dropped.
Here's a link to the '09 order guide. If you look through it, you'll find the FX-4 trim level as an independent trim level between the XLT and the Lariat.
I agree the DRW are definately ugly and very similar to the current dodge DRW. However, they probably did that to improve rear visability. I sure hope it looks better in real life. I haven't made up my mind about the front end yet. I definately like the head lights better, the grill is so so. I am excited about the powertrain upgrades and overall I am pretty impressed.
