Air vent problem

I have an 05 F250...when i turn on the air conditioning it only blows out the defroster, not the vents in the dash. No matter what position i put the selector swith on, it blows out the defroster. Doesn't blow out the floor or the dash. The dealer did some work under the hood last week. Could they have done something? Does anyone know what it could be? I don't have the digital climate control unit, i have the *****...

On the older super duties that would be a sign of a vacuum leak. I would check to see if there is a disconnected or broken vacuum line under the hood. What was the nature of the work that the dealer performed? Also, a disconnected vacuum line to the ESOF 4x4 system will cause the symptoms you discribe.

It is a vacuum leak. At 0" vacuum the ventilation door defaults to defrost. If it happened after the dealer worked under the hood, then most likely they either cut a vacuum line or pulled a connection off. I would go back, explain the situation and have them fix what they broke. The vacuum lines run all over so it is not hard to tug or nick a line while doing something else...

I think I'm gonna do that. I just called the service dept and they told me to bring it up.
