It been about a year and a half since we bought my wifes 2005 F150 from a local dealer. Last week my wife was leaving the mall and before she backed out of her parking space, a Ranger pulled up behind her. An older guy gets out of the Ranger and goes up to my wifes window and asks her if she bought the truck from such and such dealer, and my wife replied that we did. He than asks her if we live on such and such street. My wife at this point is getting a little suspicious and asks why he is asking. He told her that the truck was his and he traded it on his Ranger when gas prices began climbing. He has a Super Chips in it and still has the (controller?) that plugs into the OBD port to set tunes. He gave her his phone number and told her to have me call him. I called him when I woke up to go to work and we will meet one day this week so he can give me the programmer and shoot the breeze. I wondered about this truck being a problem truck just after I bought it and noticed the cover for the OBD port was missing. I guess I know why now. IAC, I come out of this with a new toy and possibly a new friend. Just thought I would share.
Yea that is pretty neat.. I have ran into some of my old trucks of the road befor and was like wow.... It's strange how things work out.... Keep us posted on how you make out.
I sold my 95 off to the east coast just so that i'd never see it again....did the same thing with my yamaha r6...sold it down to the south part of the state......i didn't ever want to drive by and see them cruising around......i'm still kicking myself for selling both of those....
When I got the truck we traded in the Mustang and I have always wondered what happened to it. I never saw it again. Once I handed (reluctantly) the guy the keys it was like it disappeared.
I think one day I might pull up next to it at a light but so far no luck. Whats really crazy about it is I found a spare key to it not to long ago, that was kinda sad because that was an awesome car.
Not 2 months after I traded my 97 in on the 2005, I received a letter in the mail that it was impounded for illegal parking and I had to pay so much $$ to pick it up. I called them for grins and giggles but the new owner already picked it up.
I still see it in a neighboring town every so often. It is nice to see that it is still in good shape and running around everywhere.

When I was much younger, my Dad traded cars at a dealer about 20 miles away. About 4 months later we happened to be in that city and chanced upon our old car on the street with the whole frontend rolled under from an accident. Really hurt to see as the car had been in great shape and washing and waxing it was one thing I did to keep it nice.
I am not looking to put premium gas in this truck or any hardcore performance tune as it is the wifes DD. I was looking at the 87 octane tune. Can anyone tell me if it is okay to tow on this tune, or would I need to put it back to stock before towing? Thanks
