Cruise Control Question

On my Limited Excursion, we are having a problem with the crusie control. When driving, sometimes it cuts off and have to reset it, resume does not work much if at all. Sometimes after it is on the road for 30 minutes or more it seems to work better, less cut outs. Another odd thing, when we hit the edge of some bridges, it will cut off. So I am not sure if the issue is with the switches in the steering wheel or with some sort of sensor/switch that when you hit a bump it cuts out.

Anybody have this issue and if so how was it fixed? Thanks-Phil

I had the same problem and it was the brake pedal switch. A bump in the road was enough to trip the switch and cause the CC to disengage.

Sounds like the brake pedal switch.
Another common problem: there is a wiring harness on the end of the master brake cylinder that sometimes gets shorted out with some fluid leaking out onto it. There is a recall for this, so next time your in at the dealer for any reason, ask them to look up if it has been done on your X.

Correct me if I am wrong, but I think the recall was just for the V-10 powered vehicles. I had to take my pick up in.

Could be, I only know about the big 10!
I did figure tho that the wiring is the same for the cruise.

I had the same issues as the OP. I had the sensor that goes into the master cyclinder replaced and all works well now.
