Does anybody know why Ford changed in 97 to a 5 hole axle pivot brack as apposed to the 4 hole which was on all the other years. Just curious becaus i'm in the middle of putting together a lift kit and found this out.
I knew they did it but could never understand why. I could see it if it was that much better and they were gonna use it for the next dozen years or so, but for a 1 year run it made so sense.
Are the 4 original holes in the same place or did they rearrange them all?
Those are only on the late build 97 trucks. I'm not sure when the changes were made. A friend has a late build truck and his has the 5 bolt setup. Mine on the other hand doesn't. I took a pic of his a while back I'll dig it up.
