Has anyone installed their own drop brackets for a lift kit????
I'm installing skyjacker drop brackets on the front of my 1995 F150 4x4. Got the front one (for the left side) installed, now I'm working on the rear (or the right side).
The instructions for the rear bracket say to mount it in the old pivot hole, then orient the bracket so the new pivot hole is directly below the old pivot hole. Then, from the stock pivot hole, measure horizontally 3-1/8" to the right (as viewed from the rear), and drill another mounting hole for the new bracket in the crossmember.
The problem is, the hole in the skyjacker bracket that is supposed to line up with my new hole, won't allow the bracket to be vertical, that is the new pivot hole won't be directly below the old pivot hole.
Any thoughts on this? Any at all? I'm calling skyjacker tomorrow to see what's up.
I just put a 6" Skyjacker on my buddy's 95 F1504x4 back in March, I don't remember having any real problems with the radius arm drop brackets. I do remember drilling a few holes for them though.
