I am finallizing my purchase details for Injectors and Turbo. I spoke with Jody and he said that if I was going to go with the Hybrid 235CC injectors, that I shouldn't waste my time with the Garrett 38R turbo and should go for an H2E. I have a stock motor, with big Exhaust and want to go as far as I can, but I don't want to blow it up either.
From what I understand, if I go with the H2E, I then need to go with Head Studs, and would be potentially meeting or exceeding the 450HP mark. (Hence, possibly too much for Stock Forged Rods etc...)
Can someone please offer some advice as quick as possible on this, as I need to get things finallized ASAP. My thought was to go with the Hybrids now, so that if down the road I want to go more, I can. But, if the requirement is to then upgrade to an H2E or similar, then what do I do?
Does it make more sense to cut my losses and just go with the Stage II's and combine with the 38R?
You can get smaller hybrids (say, 200cc/30% nozzles). I got the same size as you for my PMR motor (238cc/100% nozzles), but I'm having them tuned down. Plus, all I have is a van turbo, so I'll be running out of air way before that. In my case, I don't want to go beyond what the van turbo will support anyway (for now). The 38r will take you well over 400hp -- I think you're maxing it out between 450 & 500 IIRC, so it will work for what you're after. Just have Jody tune you for a max of around 450 and you'll be okay with the 38r IMHO.
Is this reasonably safe for a stock 7.3 (assuming factory Forged Rods?)
You're definitely up in the danger zone. Forged motors have given up below that. And some PMR motors have held above that, so who knows. If you go with smaller hybrids and the 38r you should be *fairly* okay. I'll be in the low 400s with my PMR engine, so we'll both be in the same boat.
Well, a couple years ago, I found a list of International Serials online, and my serial was right smack in the middle of a batch of Forged Rods. I have NOT yet actually looked in the inspection plate.
My International Serial is 1470280F, can anyone confirm with some international #'s? (forged / PMR), according to what I researched, there are serials up to a point that were Forged, then a batch of PMR's, then another batch of Forged (which is where my # sits), then back to PMR's ongoing.

I would look to be sure. I don't know how accurate it is using the numbers. Here is how to look and what to look for. LINK
It's easy enough to look, but just so you know, forged engines have given it up as low as the 420s. It's no guarantee by any means. If you want to be SURE, get the smaller hybrids, the 38r, and keep it in the low 400s. And even still, there are no guarantees. Once you go over that 400 mark, you're rolling the dice. If it makes you feel better, I'm rolling the dice too.
Hey makes a good 413 and can take on a few dodges Joe I am surprised that Jody didn't recommend the QSSB. The H2E is a good turbo even better modified, but depending on where you want to go Swamps 200/30 injectors and a 38R have proved to provide a good 399.9 with some conservative live tuning.
Well, I guess I will pop the inspection plug tomorrow night (When I get my truck back from the body shop).
At this point, it might look like going with the Stage II's is the smart safer way to go, I am SURE it will be a DEFINATE improvement over what I currently have anyways.
