To be honest, no one is going to know what length cable you need for your custom application. You're going to have to see how long a cable you need and see what the parts store has.
GreyStreak, I believe that the VSSs mounted on the rear ends are for use with rear ABS equipped trucks only....
The C6s will always have the speedo provision on the body of the transmission just above the oil pan.
This is not true. Any transmission made after 1991 won't have the provision for the cable speedometer in it as the truck's speedometer runs off the rear axle VSS as greystreak says.
They were used till 90-91, that is when they were replaced by the e4od unless you had a 300I6 or 302 and then they used the pos AOD (around 87-90 or so). I think they started using vss the in like 90-91. I know they had the primative abs in like 87. All c6 trans had cables on them either in the trans or in the t-case tail shaft near the top on the drivers side.

C6's were available in F-250's and F-350's right up until 1997. The E4OD did replace the C6 in a lot of applications, but that doesn't mean you couldn't get a C6.
The 300 was also paired pretty regularly with the E4OD, much more often than with the AOD.
1986 was the first year for the AOD, and it was all but exclusively paired with the 302.

1992.

Correct.
