Okay, call me an ameture, but I've had 100 EFI vehicles and this is the first carb i've owned. What's this screw and do I need to take anything apart to replace it?
That is just a large screw that allows you to view the float level. Really not a screw, but more of a cap.
All Holley carbs use the same one, and they even sell a clear one.
You need it, but you dont have to take anything apart.
My only convern os how long it has been missing? The components inside of the bowl may be real dry and in need ore replacement if that thing has been sitting for a long time.
Power valve, gaskets, accelaerator pump etc, might be in bad shape.
Thank you so much! I was starting to think I wasnt going to get an answer. I'll find one and try to see if it works before i buy a rebuild kit. I dont know how long it's been missing since I got it with the engine.
Well if the engine was running without that cover, the fuel would have spilled out when the vehicle was in motion. You would have cought the thing of fire for sure. I am confident that it was not missing while the vehicle was running for very long.
If it was, the float level was far too low.
