Okay how the heck do you get the clamp off the turbo? I'm trying to install a new exhaust and to no avail I can not get that clamp to budge! What a freaking PIA. My arms are all scratched up just trying to get in there and un screw the bolt holding the clamp on. Finally got that but there was nothing moving that clamp. Any suggestions on how to get it off without destroying it? Is there a trick? I would hate to bring it to a muffler shop to have them install it when I know I can.
Really wanted to get this exhaust on today but that didn't happen had to tighten everything back up and and try again next weekend. Nothing seemed to work at all this weekend.
PB Blaster and time. Spray it on and let it soak. Come back later and put some more on. Since you're gonna do it next weekend, spray it once each day. That should do the trick.
if you are talking about the V-band clamp on the down pipe? you need to get the T-bolt loose enough to come out of the clamp then i have used a screwdriver and hammer to srtike the open part of the clamp, its far from easy, but another thing is that if you are removing the exhaust, cut out everything past the downpipe so you can have a buddy wiggle the remaining downpipe section from below and that can help to loosen the clamp by relieving pressure on the clamp as well as wiggling it will work it loose. Good luck.
Lets use the proper terminology when refering to parts.
the turbo to downpipe clamp is refered to as "Beotch"
the turbo to up-pipe collector clamp is refered to as " Mother Fokker"

carry on.
You make me larf, but very true
I used the same process as BDF. If in doubt give it a clout
If you are installing a new exhaust, then cut the pipe right afer the ben under the truck, put a pry bar in the pipe ( after the clamp is loose) and work it back and forth down there, leverage help.. I will admit, the hammer is more fun!!

Well I really got a good laugh over what Brandon said. How true!! I appreciate the advice fellas and I will try what you said and I will report back next weekend with the end result. I think may order another clamp from Ed just in case I get a little over bearing
All I did after spraying PB Blaster on it was loosen & tap the extension with the socket on it a little. It popped right off. Same trick worked on the collector clamp. No bieotches or fokkers here.
Mission success!! That PIA clamp came off thanks to all of your advice. Cutting the pipe and and putting a pry bar in there did the trick. The new exhaust is hung and it sounds. I can already feel the difference in performance. Looking forward to seeing a small increase in MPG's. Thanks again all.
in the future, something to try is to take a punch and tap the 3 "sections" of the clamp, or those that you can access, with a hammer. I cant remember whether they are those type of marmon clamps or not. You know, the kind that have 3 separate sealing clamps with small gaps in the middle. HOpe someone understands what I am trying to say.
Also, a screwdriver inserted in the same place and twisted will work as well.
