Well Ranger Fans, Round 8 is now upon us. 5 days of voting left, unfortunately there aren't any Rangers in this round. But there are lots of really nice trucks.
As usual, click on the link in my sig, and vote for your favourite.
Round 9 will be opening about the 22nd or 23rd, depending on Dutch's timetable, so be alert if you want to enter your truck.
Isnt it a bit unfair to have modded and somewhat show version trucks against plain jane stockers? It comes as no surprise that the last 2 trucks which are you average trucks have close to no votes while the others which are modded have the majority of votes. Maybe have a round with just stockers then a round with modded trucks to make it a bit more even?? Just my .02
The whole point is that it's a Truck Show. You'll go to a truck show anywhere, and you'll have stockers and modifieds. The only difference is that THIS truck show is online. Pretty much the same cross section of the truck owner's population, as it applies to those of us who use the internet.
It's supposed to give us all a chance to enter a truck show, and possibly win, but without having to travel great distances. So here we are.
I entered mine in round 3 without expecting to advance to the final round. And, as I expected, I didn't do all that great if you're only focused on winning results.
It isn't necessarily about winning. It's about the friends you make along the way.

I totally understand its just a friendly showoff but car shows have different categories for people to compete in. Obviously what Im saying makes no difference since Im fairly new to the place, but imo it would be more interesting to face off a group of stockers followed by modified stock and possibly even show worthy class if you catch my drift. Out of curiosity what does the winner win...a shirt...bragging rights?
This is all in good fun. I am not even close to winning and I am enjoying it. My truck is definitely NOT show worthy. It is what it is. A family event. The ford truck family.

Absolutely, its just for fun and I totally get that. It's a simple yet easy way to get people more involved with the forums.

The winner of each round (10) advance to the final round, and get a 1 year subscription (or extension, if it applies) to the FTE premium membership. That opens up a whole new forum, a ton more PM space, and a few other things that are slipping my mind.
The grand winner, well, I'm not entirely sure, but the guys are working on a trophy I think.
You're absolutely right about there being different classes ie stock vs modified at a regular car show. We tried that last year, with themed events. They weren't as well received as the current setup. Too many nice trucks were left out because they didn't fit the criteria.
Hell, enter, don't enter, it's up to you. I'd encourage you to enter. There needs to be more Rangers in the contest. Some have complained that there isn't enough Ranger participation, but on the other hand, others are saying our Rangers can't compete. So what? We still drive Ford Trucks. This is a Ford Truck enthusiasts website. We are holding a Ford Truck online truck show. We compete by default. Whether we place in the top 3 or not us up to us to vote that way.
I don't want to come across as preachy, but come on. Get in there. Vote in round 8, enter round 9.
