hi sorry about all the questions, i have not been able to get on for a while so had them stored up!
anyway, i have a 2006 fx4 with the factory 20's at the moment i have the 355 gears and would maybe like to change them out for 410 or deeper as i am looking at bigger tires (see earlier question!) how easy is it to do a gear swap on both the front and back, i am assuming that there are special tools needed? or am i wrong? am i better of getting a professional shop to do it? i am all about saving money and don't mind getting down and dirty! any help at all appreciated!

Gear swapping isn't really a DIY thing. It's better left up to someone who has done it many times. :-)

pay someone to do it.

you need dial calipers, and a few other tools. mainly experience though. this is not the job for a novice.

figure about $1400-1500 for the work/parts
