still no boost
bumped up the wast gate rod instaled new guage seven lbs of boost ??? checked all the other hoses and conections agan air chuck and osoap water no bubbles. had a diesel guru check it no idea. dont want to go to the local stealership ????? HELP

What shape is the turbo wheel in?
What kind of air filter do you have installed?
Is your exhaust open like it's suppose to be? No restrictions? Exhaust leaks from the manifolds to the collector?
Does your truck smoke? With only 7lbs of boost, it should smoke like hell under acceleration.

Boost is created by the turbo. The turbo is driven by exhaust gases. You generate exhaust gases by burning fuel. If you have low boost and there are no leaks or restrictions in the intake or exhaust and the turbo is not mechanically damaged, then you aren't burning fuel.
It doesn't take a "guru" to figure out. It takes an average diesel mechanic with the proper tools to check fuel pressure and PIDs during a road test. Ford has an excellent diagnostic book for the 7.3 that in virtually every case will lead you to the cause of a low power concern, or at least point you to the faulty system. I don't think I've ever come across a 7.3 with low power that ever took more than a couple of hours to diagnose, even the "weird" ones.
Find a better mechanic.

What he said^^^^^^^^^Also, you may not make any boost worth a darn with up pipe leaks. Is there any smoke involved? Might be time to tie in a fuel pressure gauge and see what it is doing under load.

I am sure you already checked, but how about fuel filter? It can make a huge difference...

thank you guys. i went by the guy that installed the turbo today he also said that it might be a fuel problem. he took it for a test drive and he smoked the tires it was realy COOL. i now am gitting lbs with the guage instaled correctly. now i am going to try a map cencer, then mabe a new fuel pump. i am getting there

I need to hit you guys up too, I feel I don't have the power the truck should have. ONLY after it warms up good. It smokes until warmed up. There is what I feel as a hesitation when I put my foot in it, it sounds like turbo kicks in, but after a few full seconds the truck lunges forward and I can get it up to 80mph. I have changed and cleaned out fuel filter, air filter was clogged black, replaced it, I cleaned out the ERCP? tube. No major difference, (I just bought this truck) My friend had the same year truck, he said his used to rock and roll right off the bat. Any help?

I have an update, a shop found the problem, there is a clip to the wastegate rod that is missing or broke, I took truck back this morning to fix since he had to order part. Ford wont sale the clip alone, I have to buy a $160 turbo replacement kit or some story, anyone have an extra clip, or know our fellow friend up in Seattle that sales parts cheap?
