Hey guy's recently i have noticed that when starting truck in the morning the lights inside mainly on my electronic climate control screen and in dash lightly pulsating dimmer then bright.....i was thinking glow plugs but it hasn't been that cold...low's around 60...but could it just be the glow plugs first thing in the morning? even at those temps....?
3 years (almost on the dot) for my batteries. If you are under 36k miles (and less than 3 yrs old) the dealership will replace your batteries - BUT only if you bring your vehicle to the dealership with the batteries in the vehicle.
I would advise you to also get your alternator checked.
Ok guy's now it is doing it pretty much constantly..if i shut motor off the lights do not pulsate but when engine is running i get a droaning sound and pulsating lights throughout vehicle including headlights....? What could this be? Could it be the alternator?
Guess i better head to the dealership then.....how long can i go till i cause damage to FICM?...I will have to make appt with dealer i am assuming so might not be till Saturday........
Sounds like an alternator pulsating voltage, usually caused by an open diode, most likely caused by a bad battery.FIY anything over 3 years on a battery is usually borrowed time IMHO.

Great advice! Checking batteries one month does not guarantee that they are OK the next month.
The alternator is ONLY covered by the 3 yr / 36k warranty.
There is no way to tell how much stress and strain the FICM circuit board can handle.
Having the batteries individually load tested is free and easy. Testing the alternator at the auto parts store is also free and easy. Do yourself a big favor and get these things done soon.
Im going to take the truck to auto-zone..i guess they will check the alternator for free...if i find out that that is the problem, how do i find out what amperage alternator i have, and where do you guy's reccomend me getting a new one...??? should i stay with Ford or will any brand alternator with the same ratings work???
