yeah, I am glad it was such a easy fix. Just goes to show that when you have a problem you should start at the begining even if it is something you are sure you have right. People make mistakes, well I hear they do at least, and double checking your work may save you a lot of time and money.
Julie- yes I have a vacuum gauge, this is what I used to set the timing and the carb. I ended up getting right around 21 (cant remember the abbr. for mercury) steady for my final vacuum reading. I drove the truck all around yesterday to run a bunch of local errands and it is great. It starts right up and runs perfect, I can even give it gas anytime I want and she responds with a quick acceleration. Life is good. Now on to fixing the door opening assembly.
