Another Oil gauge?

Another Oil gauge?
I got my 2.9 shoehorned in tonite, everything is hooked up except the over heat sender wire on the front left side of motor, and the oil level wire on the pan.
with the key on and engine OFF the oil gauge reads in the middle. with the engine running the oil gauge reads 0. ran it for a few miles and no problems so obviously it has oil pressure. Oil is brand new, just poured it in. does that oil level wire need to be hooked up for the oil gauge to work right?

well I reconected the oil level wire and the gauge still does the same thing so any new ideas?
also the Brake light on the dash and the ABS light are on, what causes that? the speedo works fine all the way to 70, took it for a spin today.
