Why a poor ground was causing problems with my left tail light and fixed that today

Most electrical probles in older vehicles are poor grounds--- I do not know why?

Many times the wiring is only the hot being wired directly and the vehicle carries the ground charge. Connections get corroded or the wires or cables connecting the negative side break or corrode so there isn’t a complete circuit.
