Why is it when they refer to something as bulletproof, such as (that inline six cylinder is bulletproof), is it usually the first thing to break?

Why does it sound like Del needs one of these?
I know guy who knows a Russian guy who can get you one for $25,000 but if you're willing to do some minor wrenching he can go down to $10,000.
