I was driving to work this morning and my 1993 5.8 4x4 Bronco just died. I had it towed back to my house and noticed that It was not getting fuel. (can't here the fuel pump at all) I checked the relays and fuses and they were ok. I dropped the tank and replaced the fuel pump and still nothing. I did notice a burning smell in the cab but not sure were to look. I checked the entra switch on the passenger side and pulled the column apart and can't find anything. Any suggestions would be great.
Replace the PCM Computer.
When you take it out open it up and you will see the problem.
This happens most of the time after washing the engine compartment or running in water.
That sucks! I did wash the motor off a couple weeks ago after I had coolant leaking from the thermostat. The motor was cold so I cleaned it being careful not to wet the electronics on the driver side and then ran the motor to evaporate the water. So now the question is were do I get a PCM at? I did want to change over to mass air so should I consider it now? What parts will make it work? Thanks for your help.
Any auto parts store you can order one. Just get the numbers off your old one for ordering one. They will want your old one.
You can also get them at salvage yards and off ebay and other internet sources.

I changed the ECM today and it started right up. I found a ECM from a 1992 4x4 E4od 5.0 bronco for $40 bucks. I was scared it would not work because I have a 5.8 but It is running fine. Also the old ECM looked like it was on fire. I will be looking to swap to mass air soon so I just needed a temp fix. Thanks for your help.
