Fuel Pump Relay F250 5.4

Hi guys,
I'm looking for the fuel pump relay on my F250 5.4.
I can see 2 fuses related to the pump on the diagram but can't see a fuel pump relay. Does it exist?
I have fuel issues and can't reach the connector on the gas tank to check the power so I'd like to check the relay first before I go ahead and drop the tank.
Thanks.

What year truck?

Mine is in the dash, behind the radio. It can be accessed through the drivers side footwell.

Sorry, it's 2001 SD reg cab.
Fuse #5 in the power distribution box is for fuel pump relay coil but I need to find the relay itself.
Is there any chance to check power not dropping or lowering the tank?
Thanks.

Hmm.... I'm not sure about the older trucks.

As for checking the power to the pump, my usual procedure is to find the relay, and check for a power supply, a signal wire, and power flowing out of it when the signal wire has power. If that stuff all checks out, it's on to the tank.

I had to throw that all out when my pump died in my '05, since it has a fuel pump control module though. But I don't think you'll have to deal with that.

Good luck.

Have you checked the fuel pump shut off switch?

From the owners manual:

FUEL PUMP SHUT-OFF SWITCH
This device stops the electric fuel pump from sending fuel to the engine
when your vehicle has had a substantial jolt.
After an accident, if the engine cranks but does not start, this switch
may have been activated.

I have had the switches trip on from loading a boat on a trailer.

Definitely need to get the service manual for this truck...

I checked the pump shut off switch, it's all the way in...
Will look for the relay in the morning.

Okay, this is for those who will be looking for the location of this relay as I did.
There is the bracket in the dash between steering column and climate controls. The relay is in the black plastick box mounted on that bracket on the climate control side. You can see it if remove the fuse panel but might not recognise right away as there are actually 3 relays in that box and you cannot access it from there.
The proper procedure to remove the relay would be to remove the radio first, then remove the cover from relay housing. There are 3 of them, the upper one of the smaller size is what you are looking for.
This is true for 99-01 vehicles, not sure about later year models though.
It can be accessed wthout removing the radio (the way I did). Just remove bottom screws from the lower panel benieth the climate controls and jently pull the cover upwards, then try to sqeese your hand through the opening. But the latter procedure is not recommended.
Hope it will help somebody.

If anybody knows what the other two relays for please post. It might be good to know.
