New Guy... 1st Ford With Electrical Issues

My name's Bradley and I just got my 1st Ford today. It's a '97 F250 PowerStroke diesel. I love it so far. Maybe you guys could help me with a few electrical issues it got. 1st off, the fuel gauge does not work on either tank. 2nd, I have no low beams. The bulbs and fuses are fine and the highs works fine too. Any ideas?

*Update*
I noticed today that the fuel gauge will go up toward full when I take a right turn. It just stays on empty the rest of the time. Oh, I got a new multi-function switch for free. I just got to pick it up on Friday.

Must be a fuel level sensor in the tank problem.

That's what I was thinking until I did the selector valve bypass this morning. I can jump the connectors and get the rear tank to read on the dash, but the front still stays on empty. Maybe the selector switch?

I think I've narrowed it down to the selector valve itself. I ordered one yesterday. Let hope it works.
