I have a 2000 7.3l F-250 with 114k miles on it. Bought it a couple of years ago. Ever since I have owned it, I have noticed from a standstill it makes a bump when you first accelerate like there is slack in the drive train somewhere. Someone told me it might be my limited slip differential.
Any ideas on where I might look. Drive shaft looks good. Not leaking any fluid from anywhere that I can see.
I love FTE. You people rock. Would say guy's but I know there is at least one female in this forum. Thanks for all the information ya'll give. It really is nice for newbies to Diesels or even the senior diesel person to be able to come to this forum and ask a question with the chance that somebody in here will know the answer. Thanks again
Oh it's not by chance, it's almost a certainty that if you give enough information about what is going on, it will get figured out. There are some incredibly capable people here. It's a given, without a doubt, it's better to come here and ask the question than go to a Ford dealer or most mechanic shop's unless they are big time into the 7.3's.

TayzGpa were you able to do this regreasing yet? Interested to see if it worked out for you. I have the same bump and was thinking about doing this this weekend.
Yes, I did it a couple of days ago and it worked like a champ.
BE SURE to mark your drive shaft on both ends where it disconnects from the rear end and where it disconnects from the center yoke (or whatever it's called).
I didnt get that quite right at the yoke end and like to have never got it back in the correct slot.
