My dash has what's left of the speaker(it works but a new one probly couldn't hurt. What's so special about the antenna?
It's a special tri band antenna. AM/FM/CB
Very simular to the 70's trucks. However the 80's unit is slightly different with more buttons on the microphone, as stated. There are also aftermarket replicas of the factory radios out there. Ford Radios will show FORD on them. Aftermarket factory replicas will have their own name brand.
As for the speakers. No speakers were standard.
AM and AM/FM monural got the center dash speaker only.
AM/FM stereo, and Tape players got the door speakers only.
The CB Radio used the Center speaker.
If you had a AM/FM stereo, with factory CB you would get three speakers, and both radios would work independantly. AM/FM Stereo through the door speakers, and CB through the center speaker.
If you had a AM or AM/FM monural radio, with factory CB, the radio would be muted as long as the CB radio was turned on, because both used the center speaker..
My wiring diagrams show the factory cb radio wiring up untill 1983. But take that with a grain of salt.
Never mind about the antenia, Looking from the pics there, its not what I have. I saw the box there when I was 14 (farm truck btw) The one on that truck was normal. sorry.
