I got a used motor out of a 89 truck that is fuel injected and has a ton of smog JUNK on top of the motor. It looks like on the left side of the head if your looking at the motor from the front has a AIR Pipe and the "air injectors" are going right into the head. I dont plan on using any of this as this motor is going into my 85 with ds2 and no emissions. its got a vac line for the pcv, booster, and vac advance.
So now the question is i need a cylinder head. What year head should i use. Some places on ebay sell heads for 77-84, 85-86, 87-96 smog and non smog. I assume i need the non smog head but you guys fill me in on the info
It won't run right set to factory specs, you'll have to set the timing at 3-4ºBTDC or it will have detonation issues.
For the best results, use a pre-87 head, as these will have the correct combustion chamber for your setup.
