Steering fluid change.

Did the power steering fluid change iaw directions from FTE! Happy to tell ya that not only did the pump quiet down but the brake peddle seems stiffer. Now, I couldn't justify the cost of flushing the system with full synthetic ($8 a quart) just to throw 3.5 quarts away, I used synthetic blend. Don't know the ramifications of using a blend, but I like it so far. I hate being poor. Thanks FTE for the instructions.<o></o>

Mostly posted to see if anyone else has used a synthetic blend and how it worked for them.

I used Mobil1 in mine. Worked out great! I got it for $5.50 a quart by buying by the case from O'Reilly's. Bought enough for the trans and the PS pump change. Four cases of 6 quarts each.

Bought four quarts of Mobil One trans fluid, used only three to do a good flush.

System was quiet and operating normally before I did the flush, though the fluid was dark.

System operates exactly the same afterwards.

That's exactly the way I wanted it to be.

Yep, mine definitely improved and my intentions was to use Modil 1, but like the old saying "50% of something, is better than 100% of nothing".

I also bought 4 quarts, only used 3 quarts, I didn't want to run back to the store if I ran short.

The flush did fixed the whine from the power steering pump and gave me a firmer brake pedal.

My oil was pretty black and dirty.
