Joe, which wire? The only one I see near the CDR is the one for the oil pressure gauge, that's the sender it's hooked up to.

Are you talking about the wire with green tape on it?

My guess is the wires that used to go to the glow plug controller.

Originally it was screwed into the drivers side head pointed straight up.
If the controller has been removed you should see a pipe plug where it was located.

if you have the roung screw in controller like dave posted then you have the old style like me, and mine still works off the switch just like it did when it came from the factory
