I fueled my truck on last Thursday ran great an a 300 mile trek north. Monday on my way home it started running a little rough, then when I would stop it would stall intrmittently. Further down the road it would stall out but start right back up, I started up a long winding mountain road and it hesitated and sputtered. when I got into town I got out and drained the water seperator and swiched tanks, and it sputtered one more time but it was mild, for the remainder of about 200 miles it fan fine, somewhere I swiched back to the rear tank and drained the rest of the fuel out thinking it may be a bad tank of gas ( no problems) The next day I drove to work (25 miles) no problems but it idled rough, drove home, again no problems but rough idle, fuled up again yesterday pulled into drive way stalled at idle outside of drive, then again when I got to the end of drive, drove home last night, and back to work this morning seems to run fine but still has a rough idle. CPS was changed in late May along with filter, oil and filter changed Wednesday before trip. Any Ideas? Love my trucks, but dont like problems for the amount I depend on them....... Any input on causes would be appriciated?
Part 2.
I have a super chip according to the mechanic that serviced the truck because his code reader kept getting an error code. How do I locate the chip so I can find out what it is? (Didnt want to pay him to find out for me)
Change fuel filter if it's been a while, same for the engine oil
Check the connections on the valve cover (4). Look for burnt, bent or corroded pins/sockets.
