I've been having some issues with my truck for a while, It would just crap out, intermittantly. Service Engine Soon light would come on and it just had no Power, I thought it was a Fuel Delevery Problem, but couldn't find a way to prove it. I'd would shut down and Restart truck ran good.
Sometime I would have to do this three time, Other times I could Haul 250 Miles before it would happen,
Always seams to happen on either Let off on throttle or a Turn or bump.
This weekend, After hitting a gravel road with water bars every 50 yard, It finally stayed.. (Great, Now I can chase the problem, but it was a Long haul/tow to get it back to our shop.. 300 miles)
I've replaced the Filter, Supply Pump, and the CPS on the road with no results.
Also Unpluged my Chip.
Injector Buzz test showed P0273, and P1295. Injector 5 short.
I'm expecting (I've never been in the valve covers or injectors of a desiel..) to see a Problem on the Wires or connector of the Right side .
What should I Look for, I've also heard something about updated Clips??
Any Help Ideas or Input is appreciated....
By the way, Truck is Back up and running normal again, So I don't think I cooked the ICM.. I'm still getting the code on an Injector buzz so I have something to chase this weekend.
It's just wiring -- look for chafing/bare wires in the harness. And for the plugs, they will be obviously half-unclipped. There is a mod where you partially grind down a quarter and stick in the clips to keep them in place. Chris F350-6 came up with it...
What Joe said.
Pull the valve covers, retorque the rocker pedastals, injector hold down, and make sure that the plugs are staying put on the inside of the valve covers.
Does anyone have any Photo's or detail about this Clip, or connector.
I can imagine grinding down a quarter, there is a couple ways to do it, Grinding it Thin, or making it Not round?
Hell it Might make allot more sense when I actually look at it and see the problem, Right now It all what I'm imagining in my head and from the Photo's in the Manual...
