I may be able to buy a motor that supposedly has 50-60 lbs compression on each cylinder dry tested. 35 lbs oil pressure. Blows some smoke at startup then goes away.
How does that sound for compression? good or not?
Thanks
Not real good. A new stock engine is around 115 and will go up depending on what has been done to the engine.
My 51 flattie numbers are lowest is 95 and highest is 105 dry tested, that is with 40,000 rounds on it. How well does this motor run, did you actually see it running, I guess if you can get it at a decent price, go for it. but it may need some work.
I just noticed I live by you.
Are you looking for a Flathead.
Let me know Mark.......
Hi MARK,
I have not seen it run. Need a different 8ba flattie. Mine has a cracked block.
PM me if you may have one that is decent, I'm about 1/2 hour away from you.
The one I heard about for an engine is down by Madison.
