Oil Analysis

Here is my most recent oil analysis. I got this analysis because I have a small stain of coolant on the ground coming off the passenger side rear of the engine...some days and it looked like my headgasket possibly let loose. Based on the lack of coolant/fuel in oil and clean coolant I assume that it is from somewhere in my EGR delete(had aluminum tubes welded to intake by a skilled friend, I suspect a hose may have a slow drip). Anyway the first 3 analysis' are on the right Rotella 15w40 dino, the new one on left is 2nd change of Valv Premium Blue Extreme Synthetic 5w40 with 4,435 miles on the oil. I change every 5k....or so, I run a FS2500 cause the chick on the poster was hot, I know about it not really being needed because of shearing etc, it gives me a bit more piece of mind....don't judge me. I change that filter every other oil change.

Just want to see what everyone thinks of the high iron/molybendum/boron and anything else you guys can tell me. I understand I will have to get another analysis to create a more accurate picture of what is going on in there. Just want to understand abit more about this and what each of the high readings signify ie high iron metal on metal wear, molybendum??, boron??. Click on pic it should get big enough to read. Let me know what you think.

Are you sure that coolant stain isn't just condensation from your AC? It drips near the firewall on the passenger side.

I can not read the image. Too small and then too fuzzy when size is increased.

For that image I think I need my reading glasses and the magnifying glass my mom had when she was 70 (it was HUGE!).

One of the hardest things for me was when I turned 40, I began planning a big vacation. Hadn't taken one in a few years! I laid out the plans at work. Got home all excited and then got the map out to figure out the route. Needless to say, I was depressed for a week. I couldn't read anything ...............

Sad but true - the worst thing now is dropping bolts into the engine compartment. Where would I be without my wife and an extension magnet!

I think the moly and boron are additives in the Valvoline.

That oil analysis looks very similar to mine. The Calcium, Sodium, and magnesium numbers differ a fair amount (not sure why though....).

My iron is 30 ppm. The Boron and molybdenum are indeed additives and not wear metals.

(thanks Steve - much better)

Also you had a 2.5% fuel dilution in the April analysis which was probably due to excessive idling in the winter months.

I said its probably AC condensation, not coolant. You said coolant in your first post. My AC drips right by the rear end of my front right leaf spring.

My bad I was sleepy when I was posting. It is coolant I have smelt it and when I run the A/C I will have 2 distinct patches. Additionally it is a slow drip that only happens after the engine cools for about an hour or so, I assume the hose and 180 bend of the egr delete are expanding with heat and contracting as it cools letting coolant drip out.
