I sent it back to Bob and Cheryl. For a couple of reasons. Not sure why I'm writing about it, but I feel sad I mailed it back to them today and sometimes it helps to put thoughts down in writing.
I've spend a lot of money on the truck in a short period of time, and I know I'm fortunate enough to have had the capability to do so when there's so many others that struggle just to make the truck payment or fill the tank with fuel. The stuff I've added to it is plenty and is more than I originally planned. PMS took over me in a big way. Things are tight now.
My factory HPOP is just fine up to an 80E tune, and that's all I really ever use as I don't race my truck on or off the street. I haven't even used anything over 80E. I"m on stock sticks too with no plans for anything different.
There's a time constraint with sending the core back. You have to send it back within 30 days or no core will be accepted. I've had it for over a week now and I'm booked for the next 3 weeks, so I don't have time to get to it, so I'd lose my core credit.
I'm live tuned for what my current set up is, no need to go adding something then have to bother Jody for updates and changes. I'm happy with how it works now.
The truck tows what I put behind it very well and drives nice. So I'm just going to leave well enough alone for now and if I end up in the future adding bigger sticks I'll just do a bigger HPOP later.
I guess I should have offered it to someone here at the intro pricing I got it for, but I had to send it back by tomorrow to receive full credit and I didn't want to take the chance of no takers.
I'll say that Bob and Cheryl are awesome in letting me return it for a full refund along with the reservoir gasket and IPR. Is a place I'll surely be back to in the future.
I know the feeling Keith. Bob & Cheryl (might be Sheryl with an "S"?) are PHENOMENAL to deal with. I bought the Adrenaline and am very pleased with it, but I've (95%) determined that I'm not going to upgrade my PSD engine further, just put aside for a (one day) Cummins swap. I love the 7.3 and will probably run her for many many miles more, but the next upgrade will be "down" to 6 cylinders for me.
Keith, nice post, you did what you had to do and it's understandable and commendable, not to mention, times are tough right now. A big thumbs up to Bob and (C)Sheryl for taking care of yaa and their understanding. I got one more, ahh gees, or maybe two things to get then I,m mellowing out for a bit. Reps to yaa..
There's nothing wrong with recognizing the fact that you might be in over you head for the current circumstances. Sending it back early was a wise move. Having a company that understands your situation and agrees to taking it back for a full refund only reinforces why so many people are fans of them.
If you decide to upgrade at some future point, there's no reason not to call Bob again after this experience, and sharing this story just affirms the reputation of them. Life would be so much better if everyone were this easy to deal with.

Keith, I understand what you are saying about being happy where your truck is right now. I also am happy with my truck and don't plan to go for more HP. Glad you are able to get your money back.
Very thought provoking post Keith. Reps to you. I have spent allot of money on my truck since joining FTE. Damn near everything was a WANT and not a NEED. If I were responsible for anyone but myself and they had needs my wants would just have to wait. Even my needscome beforemy wants.
