I'm not familiar with "Cold Front" but from the cardboard description, I can visualize what it is. Why not just leave the cardboard off and let the fan clutch and thermostat do their jobs?

Block the air from coming in in the cold.
That's why they are called cold fronts.
Can get to -50f here and want it to warm up sooner.
Does have a block heater but that ain't enough.
Takes close to 10 min or more to defrost windows in winter.
i would guess in Alaska you need something more. I dont do it with the new F150, but my old F250 had a manual trans and 351 and BIG radiator. IT was slow warming up. I had a piece of galvanized sheetmetal from a house air duct. cut to size with two 2/8 inch holes in the corner. I would slide it up behind the bumper and grill and push up into position. Did not touch the radiator. Put two nylon ties on it for Nov- March each year.
