What now?
Long story short, the generator needed to be replaced, so i did, completely rebuilt the brakes, changes the motor oil, transmission oil, differential oil, and transfer case oil, and new fuel line.
What else needs to be replaced other than tires?
Also, I have to fix or replace the turn signal switch and i need to remove the steering wheel. I don't have a puller and i need to get one. Ive heard that you can remove it without it, but there is a ring on there. it looks like a washer, but is cut out where the holes for the puller go. Its thin, maybe about 1/16'' and is obviously supposed to be there. Is that whats making it so tough, or do i just need to buy a steering wheel puller?
Is the ring you mention part of the horn bezel?

I'd also drain out the old coolant, loosen the clamp & pull off the lower radiator hose from the radiator and give the system a good flushing with the garden hose to flush out any scale and crud, then I'd pull off the thermostat housing and change the thermostat & gasket. Lastly, change out any questionable radiator hoses or heater hoses.
If you didn't already, I'd also bleed the brake system thoroughly and wipe off all the grease zerks on the front end and driveshaft U-joints and give them each 2-3 pumps of the grease gun.
Keep us posted on your progress!

Remove both these parts before removing the wheel, otherwise they will fall out, and without them, the horn will not blow.
To remove the horn button (horn ring), push down firmly and turn it 1/2 inch. Careful, there's a heavy coil spring behind it.

Turn signal switch removal, 2WD with 3 speed manual or A/T trans.
The switch is EZ to remove, not so EZ to re-install as all the switches color coded loose wires must be fed down the column.
This can be a b!tch, because there's very little space between the shift tube and the steering columns mast jacket (outer cover).
At the bottom of the column is a plug the wires fit into. Cut each wire off leaving about an inch remaining. Tape the wires together and tie a long piece of heavy string to them.
Pull the switch from the column.
Now...tape and tie the string to the new wires, pull the string from the bottom of the column. When the wires are in the correct position, pull each of the old wires out of the plug, place each of the color coded wires in the same place in the plug.

NOTE: Lubing all the front suspension bits: There may not be any Zerk (grease) fittings...what you may see are rubber plugs where the Zerk fittings thread into.
This was Ford's idea, as they touted their new "Lifetime Lubrication" never needs greasing...bull pucky.
Lifetime Lubrication...to Ford...meant thru the warranty period. After that...it was only a matter of time before the parts wore out.
Remove those fracatta plugs and install Zerk fittings, available at all autoparts stores. Zerks are available straight, or with 45 or 90 degree angles.
The common Zerk fitting size is 1/4" -28.
