another 4.6 jasper problem

had an engine light for a while. had the code read and agin for the 4th or 5th time it came up mis-fire in #4 cyl. no feeling of a mis fire so i have had them cleared in the past. after fueling co-incidentally at a pilot the light came on. still no mis fire. finally in the hills of w vir the miss occured. got to nj and the tech found anti freeze in the tube.

the intake manifold has a plastic gasket requiring two tq'ing. one to 18 foot inches and the second to 18 ft lbs. well they checked and the tq is over 18 ft lbs. wil be home wed and turn the truck back to the tech for an analysis. jasper has not paid for the last work done to them. all free to me.

i would stay away from jasper and go with a ford crate motor if i had it to do all over again.

hate to say this but i don't buy rebuilds from anyone or anywhere . seems to many peeps have trouble and they don't run as well as the supposed old driveline that got pulled . either it's me using my core , or buying a running good one or core that i can hear . i won't do the crate motor thing even though it's cheaper in the long run as i tend to take a lot of pride and a swelled ego , in saying i did it , even if it isn't as good as the crate in power or ???????????? had a rebuilt jasper 292 i got out of a wrecked 62 f 350 . took it home and stuck it in the garage . when it was fired it ran worse than the smoking , rattling old 292 in the 64 1/2 ton it was destined for .... might just be my experience ................

well i have some experience with jasper but not on the same engine ,
this is a 350 chevy for a 33 ft Chris craft commander boat that has twin engine , first 10 hours of the engine running at bellow 3500 rpm the oil pressure suddenly went up to 100 psi blowing one of the gasket out and all the oil drain out , now i dont have to tell you what happen after that but like they said labor and parts is covered so we got a brand new engine swapped waiting to be fired up

admittedly i brought this on myself by swapping out the original engine. i am not married to the oval and am contemplating a 6.0 gassser for the next truck. diesels add too much weight to the truck and lower my available carry capacity.

You're honestly better off buying a used engine from the salvage yard than buying a Jasper reman.

well as it turns out jasper provides the engine. the intake manifold was moved from my previous engine. the gemini goodyear shop that did the install craacked the gasket. getting the truck back later.
