I have a 429 that I just had rebuilt. I did the top-end assembly and used big block chevy studs to hold the rockers. It seems that the pushrods are too long and thus, the rockers don't seat. Is there a way to raise the studs up to meet up with the rocker and seat them properly, or do I just need to buy different sized rods? Or are there other options?

You need to check push rod length.

 

The use of chebby studs makes the rockers adjuctable. What do you mean that they dont seat?

Main problems with roller rockers is the poor angle and geometry of the stock ford head itself. Did you install longer valves? Are the valves sunk into the seat?
Which rockers are you using?
How about the installed heigth of the spring? Diameter of the spring? Is the retainer hitting the rocker?
