I have a tendency to damage or break things when they don't want to dismantle properly. So I'm taking a breath and approaching this slowly. It doesn't look difficult, but I'm trying to learn from past mistakes!
There are two wires going into the "plug" that goes into the brake light switch--one has has broken off and left the metal connector inside the plug. (I snipped the other wire, leaving a couple inches to later reconnect with.)
My questions are: Can I dig that stub out and replace it with something off the shelf? If so, does that little metal stub dig out one way or the other? Or, do I need a new plug--is it all one piece (the plug and wires)?
Pretty silly stuff, but I swear I'll break the little plastic plug if I'm not careful. Thanks--Dan
if its like alot of the other ford plugs theres a plastic clip that holds it in there that you can get and replace. could probably hit the pin and release the plug with a small screwdriver or some kind of small rod.
Thanks, HB75, I tried a bit and just figured I'd check out the parts store in the morning. They didn't have a new plug so I tried something else...I shoved in another connector and it is holding tight. All back together and working fine!
