351m problems
Ive recently had to replace my valve springs on my 351m. Now that ive reinstalled the heads,and the timing is on mark..i get fuel and fire....but it just wont start..I have poping and a flames coming out of the carburater..im stumped
it ran fine before and i know its not timing...ive checked 5 times haha anyone have any ideas??

Welcome to FTE. I agree, it sounds like the distributor is 180* out. You can post engine specific questions for the 335 series (351C/351M/400) in the following forum:

180 out, maybe, or 1 tooth out... or wrong fireing order...
Hook the timing light up, and crank the engine, it will turn slow, but enough to tell you if it is on not... (2 person job)
Dont crank it long... a couple of rotations is all you need...

Thanks for responding..I did pull the distributer out and put everything back to spec and all the plug wires are all to the right place...but ill take your advice and recheck the timing again..lol i need a good flashlight to see the timing marks on the balencer
