spinning sound while accelerating

spinning sound while accelerating
i just bought my 01 f150 4x4 about a month ago. when i bought it there was a spinning sound when i accelerate. i can only really hear it on the driver side of the truck. while riding in the passenger seat the sound is unnoticeable. at idle there is no sound but as soon as i start moving i hear it. the higher my rpms the louder the sound is. im just curious what it could be, as far as i can tell it doesnt affect anything its just annoying. if anyone has any insight as too what it could be i appreciate it
