c6 question

I don't drive my truck every day. Sometimes after sitting a few days if I start it up and throw it in drive the truck hardly moves. I either have to wait a few seconds or hit the gas hard before it will move. After a few seconds it drives great. I have about 10k miles on the transmission and I have had the valve body out twice and it has fresh filter and fluid. Is this behavior ok or is it the start of something bigger? I'm looking for an excuse to install a zf 5 speed here :-)

If it works fine after you get going don't worry about it. It's just the converter filling back up after draining off from sitting a while.

that's what I thought, but wasn't 100% sure. I work the transmission very hard and was curious if something was worn out, although it's done that as long as I have had the truck ( a year )

You say 10K miles on the trans but was that a complete rebuild? It sounds like you have some seals that act like they are old and hard. Once the trans warms up the seals warm up and work like they should.
