Good point, to check to make sure you have the fuses and relays. I would guess if the connector is in the "HOLE" then that other goodies should be there. I would think. Fuses and relays is a easier, quick ,check see.
Ford supplied the maxifuse and 2 relays that control trailer brake power and relay but did not install them at the factory. Why? who knows but mine were still in the glovebox from the original owner and my local Ford stealership verified that they weren't installed from the factory... there is another fuse for 12v pos to the trailer (interior or exterior lights like on a horse trailer) but not necessary if you don't need the power back there.
I've got the Tekonsha Voyager and absolutely love it! Its an inexpensive unit and combines the old school and new school operation.....I really like having the manual control part easy at hand just like the older units which actually plumbed into the hydraulic system.

I had the Voyager but heard so much about the Prodigy, I bought one and liked it so much, I got another one from etrailer.com for the wife's Expedition. They are a site sponsor and their pricing is better than any I have seen on any of these controllers talked about here..
I understand that one of the benefits of the Prodigy is that it adjusts automaticly for 2 or more trailers....so if you pull more than 1 trailer frequently so you don't have to play with the adjustments like with my trusty Voyager model.
