I am looking for the body part bolt clips. My truck is missing most of the bolts for the front clip, and getting the bolts is not hard. I would like to find replacement clips so that I don't have to go through the hassle of finding a way to grab the spinning nut so I can remove the body part. Any help would be appreciated.
May try a local quality hardware store. Seem to recall Home Depot carries a limited selection, seems they were in another location than the nuts and bolts section of the hardware department. Posting links to couple of possible sources. Found Restoration Specialties carried many of the hard to find fasteners I needed to reassemble the 65; fender bolts, U and J clips, tube nuts, castle nut; secures grille support, etc.. Not familiar with the second link, believe another member posted the link and I bookmarked for reference.
I got mine from a local company that just sells bolts and fasteners. It was called "Double D Bolt." I'm sure you would have something like that in your area.
Take a look at this link and you will see many J and U-clips that can possibly be used just by looking for the correct size which is 5/16-18 I believe. At least you can see different designs...
I took out my inside cab gas tank and reused the three holding it on the front clip. You may look for other member who have removed the inside gas tank and get them to pull the clips out for you.
