Codes came up on my 2000 Ford e350 for rear differential, from my understanding it is in the rear end. My question is how much work is involved in changing and cost wise. Thanks for your input.
Yeah, that's probably the sensor then. It's on top of the diff on the front side. Take it out (pull electrical connector, and 10mm socket, I think) and clean it. It might need to be pried a little CAREFULLY to get it to pop out. If that doesn't fix it, they're like $10 at Napa...
Thanks guys, sorry I'm alittle dumb when it comes to trucks, but if that is it is it a easy fix?
Yep, should be. If you crawl under your truck, you'll see the electrical connection on top of the diff. You need to be in front of the rear axle though. There is one little bolt holding it on. I *believe* it's 10mm, but something it telling me it's smaller. No matter -- you'll figure it out. But it just pops out -- it's sealed with an O-ring, so it's snug in there. Try cleaning it first, if that fails get a new one. Ask for the "ABS sensor", and check it. There is another sensor in the output of the trans that's different, but similar.
