How do you change glowplugs and where is a good place to buy them for 2003 6.0?

I think dieselfiltersonline.com has a good price on them, not sure if its the best though. Are you replacing them all or do you have just a few out? Did you get engine codes that they were out or just symptoms?

No codes. I don't know whats going on. When I first start the truck in the morning it starts and shuts off once, twice, sometimes three times before it stays running. Then it will start ok the rest of the day.

Maybe NOT glows.... have you had your codes read? Yes, you CAN have codes without your CEL coming on! Could also be EGR system....or something else altogether.

If no smoke its not glowplugs; they are a rare failure on the 6.0L. Also, I'm not sure if I would put JB Weld inside the intake manifold. Its good stuff, but if some comes loose it could wipe out some valves.

I'm voting for the FICM. Does it shutdown almost immediately when you start it and it starts right back up?

Mine did that for 3 months before it threw the FICM code. It could also cause you injector problems.

If I take it to Autozone and hook it up to their code reader would that tell me anything?

It's very possible their code reader will, but I don't know what kind of capability it has. When you said no codes was that from a scan or from no check engine light? If code P0611 comes up then you should get a FICM on the way as it could fail at ANY moment. Not trying to scare you, but you could be cruising down the interstate and it fail without warning. Then you might need a LOT of toilet paper.
