swap with 2 trucks
i have a 2000 2wd reg cab 7.3 6 speed and 2000 4wd v-10 auto ext cab shortbed. what im woundering is how hard it would be to trade engine and tranny combos between trucks. a v10 reg cab 2wd converted to a shortbed would be nice. i guess the big deal, is will the v10 tcase hook up to my psd 6 speed 2wd.

It would be a lot better if he took a short bed and used it instead of the back of a Excursion That way you could have the removable top. Not sure how the back seats would fit in it thought and they would need to be completely removable
