Ignition switch housing broke again....
This morning broke my second ignition switch. It probably had 100 starts on it. Sac Vintage Ford is sending out a new one. Is there a quality difference from these guys to Carpenter or C&G?
During the last install I lined up the cylinder with the housing and it worked smoother than previously, so I thought all should be good for a long time.

After, I make all the electrical connections, I wrap the back of my switch with electrical tape all the way into the wires that go to the switch.
It helps keep the case together.
The wires put a lot of stress on the switch case.
Have not had anymore problems out of mine.

Another thing I forgot to mention before taping, use zip ties to bunch all of your wires together in on nice wiring harness going into the switch.
This will keep the wires from pulling in every direction.
Then use the tape.

Thanks for that tip. Interesting that you mention that as I was looking at the wires and noted the stress on them from a PO that installed an alarm system. I'll make some changes, appreciate your quick response.
